Well, here’s something different. Now that having a found footage horror film is played out we’ve seen the style expand to both the superhero world with Chronicle and now the cop genre with End of Watch.

The plot looks kind of eh, honestly. It’s like an episode of Southland but two hours and stars Jake Gyllenhaal and it’s found footage. It looks visually interesting, and that’s the draw here. Because really, how many buddy cop movies do we need where the two guys are brothers in arms and fight for each – zzzzz.

It seems like it’s just the same thing over again, but at least it looks different. It’s got a nice little cast too, with Gyllenhaal, Michael Pena and Anna Kendrick. Hopefully this is a case of a trailer not wanting to spoil anything – even though we pretty much know the plot. Does that make sense? Probably not.
