Disney says Avengers theme park rides will appear at Disney parks in the future
It was only a matter of time. Time that was increased with the wild box office success of The Avengers. Last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that an Avengers sequel was on the way. Now we’ve learned that he also announced that Avengers rides will head to Disney parks.
Universal Studio’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida has a bunch of Marvel-based rides so we probably won’t see any Disney Marvel rides in Florida for a while (licensing issues), but internationally and in California we’ll probably see Thor, Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man rides begin to arrive.
There’s no one better than Disney’s Imagineers at making believable and amazing rides however, so seeing their take on The Avengers will be something to see. Could you imagine walking through Stark’s house or HQ while waiting in line for an Iron Man ride? Or going back in time to the 1940′s in a Captain America ride? How about walking through destruction caused by The Hulk. Oh man, a recreation of Thor’s Asgard? The possibilites are endless. [Forbes]
