Disney announces Muppets 2, Pixar Dia de los Muertos movie and more

Disney took the time at CinemaCon to announce some “new” stuff. First, they confirmed the existence of The Muppets 2. It was already known that the film was in development but the House of Mouse just wanted to erase any doubt so they got Kermit and Miss Piggy to announce it. You can watch that video below, via the good folks at Inside the Magic.

Then Disney turned their attention to Pixar. Remember that dinosaur movie Pixar talked about a long time ago? Well they have given it a title: The Good Dinosaur. It’ll be helmed by Up co-director Bob Peterson and it’s about what would happen in dinos were still alive. It’s set to come out on May 30, 2014.

Next they have the Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside Your Mind. Just imagine if they keep that title. How long would lines at the box office be because people kept flubbing the title? Would people just say, “hey, you wanna go check out that new Pixar flick?” This one is from Up co-director and Monster’s Inc director Pete Doctor and is a movie that takes place inside your mind.

Finally, Lee Unkrich, the director of Toy Story 3, gets to make a movie that’s about the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos. It’s a great holiday and this one probably has me the most excited. Could you imagine what it would look like? Could you imagine how popular this film is going to be? There’s no release date for this one yet, but it’ll probably arrive in 2016.
