Dailies: Memorial Day 2012 Edition

It’s Memorial Day. We thank all the men that have sacrificed their lives for their country. To celebrate the day, I recommend watching Glory, which stars Denzel Washington and Matthew Broderick. You’ve probably already seen it in a history class, but it’s worth it again.

Memorial Day weekend also means big movie releases and big box office success. Men in Black 3 was the huge winner this year, finally taking down The Avengers. Will Smith never fails to draw a crowd.

And then you can check out the secret Catwoman poster. It’s pretty damned cool looking.

But not cooler than the new screens from Django Unchained. I really hope Leonardo DiCaprio nails this role and doesn’t overact like he sometimes does.

If you want over the top action you don’t have to look farther than Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Actually, you probably haven’t looked there at all. The movie has been forgotten behind the other big releases of the summer.

If you want to get out of the theater and go on a vacation then Universal Studios Hollywood may be a good destination. And hey, the new Transformers ride looks pretty damned cool.

Or you may opt to just spend time outdoors. Will Ferrell, Ed Norton, Woody Harrelson, Gerard Butler and more spent some time playing soccer to raise money to kids around the world. Here are the results.
