Dailies 5/9/12: Dr. Seuss biopic, Stan Lee, Blood and Ice Cream and more
Since The Avengers there has been an outpouring of love for writer/director Joss Whedon, both from fans and non-fans alike. The fans in particular have been great to him, as they’ve stood by him as he’s gone through career hell. So he took some time to write them an awesome letter.
Although really, The Avengers has the world hostage right now. In the spectacular finale, New York City gets toasted. The damage? $160 billion. Holy mother.
One actress who didn’t get to be in The Avengers is Hayley Atwell. But that’s OK, her good performance in Captain America has nabbed her a starring role in the 10 Things I Hate About You sequel, which has nothing to do with the original. Yay?
Speaking of original, Tobey Maguire, the original Peter Parker, sat down and interviewed Andrew Garfield, the new Peter Parker. I think the time-space continuum broke.
Oh, if you’re looking forward to The Amazing Spider-Man and want some Spidey video game to keep you busy the game has a neat little add-on. You can play as Stan Lee. Stan Lee as himself. Yeah.
Don’t you wish Spider-Man were in the Avengers? Well, you’re more likely to get Ant-Man. Although, wait. Edgar Wright just committed to filming The World’s End with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost later this year, which concludes the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy.
If you’d rather look forward to something a little more cooky then Johnny Depp’s Dr. Seuss biopic may be your style. Just please, don’t get Tim Burton to direct it.
If not that, then you can look forward to gangster movie Gangster Squad, which stars Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone and Sean Penn. That cast alone is enough to show up for.
As you can see, there are a ton of bullets flying in that trailer. Did you know James Bond has dodged over 4,000 bullets in his career? Insane. How many pregnancies has he avoided?
