Dailies 5/21/12: The Simpsons short film, Pixar’s Avengers and more

The Cannes film festival is happening right now in France, so things are happening. Big things. Like people getting a seven minute look at Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. The reaction? It’s awesome.

They also got to see a teaser for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master, but we get to see it to because of the beauty of the Internet. And, well, they decided to release it on the Internet.

It’s only on the Internet that you’d get things like this: what would The Avengers look like as Pixar characters? They’d look a lot like current Pixar characters, but with a new coat of paint.

Matthew Fox, of Lost fame, certainly got a new coat of paint. He looks absolutely RIPPED in the new Alex Cross film, which is from the director of xXx and stars Tyler Perry in a non-Tyler Perry film.

I don’t think Tyler Perry will cast Rihanna in any of his upcoming features (even though he casted Kim Kardashian), as the pop star had these terrible lines to deliver in Battleship. Maybe I’m being unfair though. Perry could give her lines that are worth more than yelling CHICKEN.

Would you be chicken if you found yourself in an abandoned subway station made to look and sound like the upcoming Ridley Scott movie Prometheus? Probably.

Snow White and the Huntsman comes out soon as well, so the stars sat down with MTV News to talk about their new film and read 50 Shades of Grey. Am I the only one surprised by the enthusiasm Charlize Theron showed?

You can then cream your jeans with the Anchorman 2 teaser trailer. Why does 2013 have to be so far away?

November 2012 is a little closer, so you won’t have to wait for Skyfall for that long. The teaser trailer debuted today and it doesn’t look too bad. Good job so far, Sam Mendes.

The Simpsons is going to venture in short film territory. It’s going to be in front of the new Ice Age movie. Yes, they still make Ice Age movies.
