Dailies 4/26/12: Jason Segel’s love, Bond 24 and Django Unchained

In the movie biz, dailies are unedited raw footage from the day. The director peruses them and gets a rough outline of the stuff he shot that day. At Swiftfilm, the dailies are the best stories of the day plus some that didn’t make the cut. It’s the unedited form of Swiftfilm, in a fun little package. Enjoy.

Besides Prometheus, The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained is probably the most anticipated film of the year. Who doesn’t want to see Leonardo DiCaprio as an evil and crazy plantation owner? Now we get our first looks at Jamie Foxx and DiCaprio in the movie and they look awesome.

Something else awesome: There will be more Bond after Skyfall. The new one is coming in 2014. So you only have to watch your Skyfall Blu Ray for only a year before you get some more 007 action. Just hope you’ll be seeing Bond having shaken martini’s instead of Heineken’s.

As for the future films of Martin Scorsese, they’re all going to be in 3D. Scorsese fell in love with 3D during the filming of Hugo and genuinely thinks it’s the future of cinema, so he’s committing his directing future to the technology. Even though, you know, most people are getting sick of 3D. Blargh.

Chloe Moretz has experience with Martin Scorsese. She was in Hugo and she did a good job. In fact, she’s done a good job in every movie she’s done. Now she’s trying – well, not trying but actively doing – to transition into more mature roles in the new movie Hick.

Jason Segel is well-versed in mature roles. In Forgetting Sarah Marshall he showed off his penis and in The Five Year Engagement he also wanted to show off the goods, but that fell through. So now he’s talking to Salon about love, commitment and his co-star Emily Blunt.

Segel put on a play about Dracula in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and now Adam Sandler plays a Dracula that runs a hotel for fellow monsters in Hotel Transylvania. The new trailer looks better than the teaser, but it still looks like a Happy Madison movie, which are about entertaining as watching a bunch of has-beens hanging out and having fun.

Frankenstein appears in Hotel Transylvania and is played by Kevin James. But the famous monster is also going to get a horror found footage film. You know, like Chronicle or The Last Exorcism or Paranormal Activity … but with Frankenstein. Yay?
