Brandon Cronenberg’s father, David Cronenberg, is something of a Hollywood legend. I mean, have you seen the fly?

Brandon is making his feature film debut with a movie called Antiviral, and the first trailer is pretty damned disturbing. The premise is this: celebrity culture has become so rampant that there’s a company that brings you as close as possible to the celebrities you love. For instance, you can get the same disease that a celebrity you love has and go through it together. Aww.

That’s the plot of this one. A guy is so obsessed with a celebrity named Hannah Geist that he gets infected with the virus that eventually kills her, sending him on a frantic mission to solve the mystery of her death to save his own life. It looks damned creepy. And you can kind of see that the son is heavily influenced by his father’s films.
