Angelina Jolie makes her directorial debut this year, are you surprised? I am.

The film is called In the Land of Blood and Honey and she wrote the script, which is her first. She did it while she was ill and quarantined away from her children. I’m not sure if that influenced the setting of the film (it’s a Bosnian War-set romance), I can’t see how it couldn’t.

She told Vanity Fair:

I don’t watch TV and I wasn’t reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn’t know any other way.

After she was done she of course had to show it to someone, so she sent it to husband Brad Pitt. And what did he say? “You know honey, it’s not that bad.”
